When Corrinne of Streamline VA reached out to organise her personal branding shoot I jumped at the chance. I knew she would rock her shoot with her signature confident and creative style. What I didn’t expect was that she’d also send me home with homework! Seriously, I left this shoot with a list of efficiency modifications to implement in my business!
I’ll be honest, when you peek behind the scenes at Aimee Glucina Photography it can sometimes be a bit of a shambles. I’m both a creative thinker and an organised list maker, but when those two diametrically opposed sides of my brain go to war neither come out on top.
Instead procrastination reigns supreme. As a result I find one of my weak spots is being slow to implement simple business systems that can make my life easier. So when Corrinne asked me if she could expect a Xero generated invoice I have to admit I was like…
So after a brief threat that she wouldn’t pay my invoice until I sorted myself out….I’m proud to say that I’ve tidied up my book keeping (yes, I added Xero to my suite of solutions instead of emailing a spreadsheet to my accountant 🙈) and put systems in place to stay on top of my finances a little better. I mean, baby steps right?

Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Corrinne, and I am a dedicated Virtual Assistant specialising in Administration and Bookkeeping. How did Streamline VA come to be, and what keeps you motivated?
The inspiration to create Streamline VA came from my passion for helping businesses thrive by relieving them of the burdens of administrative and bookkeeping tasks. Initially, I helped my partner in his business, and through that experience, I saw firsthand how overwhelming these responsibilities could be for business owners. This experience made me realise that I could make a significant difference by offering specialised virtual assistance.
I am particularly drawn to the diverse range of clients I serve across New Zealand. From small startups to established businesses, each client has unique needs and challenges. I find it incredibly rewarding to tailor my services to support their specific goals and streamline their operations. The personal connections I build with my clients and the opportunity to contribute to their success are what keep me motivated.
The impact I aim to have is to empower business owners to focus on what they do best by taking care of the essential yet time-consuming administrative and bookkeeping tasks. You’ve built a successful, in demand business quickly. Can you share your favourite reads and business resources with us?
Books:
I 100% recommend Profit First by Mike Michalowicz. This book teaches a new way for businesses to manage their money. Instead of the usual method where you subtract expenses from sales to see what profit is left, Mike suggests a different approach: subtract your profit from sales first, and then use what's left for expenses.
The main idea is to make profit a priority. By setting aside profit first, business owners can ensure they always have a profit, which helps them manage their money better and keep their business healthy. The book gives easy-to-follow steps, real examples, and tips to help businesses put this method into practice right away. This approach is especially helpful for small business owners who often find it hard to manage their cash flow and make a profit.
Resources & Philosophies:
I use so many great softwares and a few I highly recommend are Teamwork/ClickUp for task management, Google Drive/OneDrive for file management, Slack for team communication and of course Xero for financial management.

What advice would you give someone who is just starting out on their entrepreneurial journey?
If I were starting Streamline VA today, my primary focus would be on refining and optimising systems and processes. This foundational work would involve establishing clear workflows for client onboarding, project management, and task execution to ensure consistency and efficiency in service delivery. I would implement automation tools for repetitive tasks like invoicing, scheduling, and communication to free up time for more strategic activities. Standardising documentation such as contracts, proposals, and client communications would be crucial.
People want Personal Branding Photos for all sorts of reasons. What challenge were you trying to overcome with your photos?
My biggest challenge before doing my personal brand shoot with you was not being able to present myself properly on social media. As a virtual assistant focused on administration and bookkeeping, my work is essential but often behind the scenes. Not having a professional presence on social media made it challenging to connect authentically with potential clients and showcase the person behind Streamline VA. This situation left me feeling frustrated and limited in my ability to effectively communicate my expertise and dedication to clients.
What’s changed for you since you did your Personal Brand Photo shoot?
I am now able to present a professional and authentic image on social media and across my marketing materials. These images captured the essence of Streamline VA and showcased my dedication to providing top-notch administrative and bookkeeping services. It helped me build a stronger personal brand, connect more effectively with potential clients, and convey credibility and trustworthiness. Ultimately, having professional images elevated my online presence and significantly boosted my confidence in promoting Streamline VA's services.
The new visuals have enhanced my online presence, leading to increased engagement on social media and a higher click-through rate on marketing campaigns.
